Family Practitioner
Murray Bridge (Part-time, 0.8 FTE)

Provide early intervention to families and children in rural and remote regions. Murray Bridge base

 

We have an opening for a Family Practitioner to join our Family Mental Health Support Service program based in Murray Bridge.  This is a part time (0.8 FTE), fixed term role 30 June 2027.

 

 Your New Role 

 

In this role, you will provide early intervention support to vulnerable families with children and young people aged 0-18 years who are showing early signs of, or are at risk of developing, mental health concerns. You will also provide outreach services to the Murray, Mid Murray, Coorong, and Mallee regions.

 

 Job Responsibilities

  • Provide one on one counselling for young people and their families.
  • lan and facilitate therapeutic group work sessions in schools.
  • Maintain accurate client records in the electronic client management system.
  • Work in partnership with clients and families to develop Family Action Plans.
  • Build strong networks and referral pathways to connect families with support services.

What you need to bring 

 

Essential 

  • Degree in Social Work or a related discipline
  • Experience working with vulnerable families with children and young people who are showing early signs of, or are at risk of developing, mental health concerns
  • Available and able to work outside of standard hours when required.
     

Desirable

  • Experience delivering therapeutic interventions including one on one and group work
  • Experience in mental health promotion/education and community development activities
  • Experience working in regional areas
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse people
  • Experience using Penelope client records management software
