Practitioner (Mental Health)
Seaton, Part time (0.6 FTE)

SPRING is a mental health program that reaches young people when and where they need support. By offering flexible outreach and weekend availability, we aim to reduce hospital presentations and provide care that puts the person at the centre.

The Role

 

Centacare is excited to offer a fixed-term, part-time opportunity for a Mental Health Practitioner within our impactful SPRING program. In this role, you will provide crucial support to young people aged 11-18 who are experiencing suicidal distress, self-harming behaviours, or other mental health challenges.

 

This meaningful part time position involves working outside of traditional hours, including weekends, with a rotating roster. Shifts will not extend beyond 8pm. This is a part time fixed term opportunity until 30 June 2026.

What you need to bring


 Essential

  • Degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy or related field.
  • Proven experience working alongside vulnerable youth and their networks facing barriers to support
  • Proven experience delivering a service compassionately to people experiencing distress
  • Proven experience working effectively in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check. 
  • Valid Driver’s Licence

Desirable

  • Experience working in crisis spaces
  • Experience working with families with complex needs
  • Understanding of the referral pathways and how to navigate systems delivering services for mental health and broader social issues
