Your new role

As a Mental Health Worker, you’ll play a key role in supporting individuals on their recovery journey. You'll work with clients experiencing eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image concerns — offering non-clinical, recovery-oriented support through planning, outreach, education, advocacy and more.

You’ll provide support in the community, both face-to-face and over the phone, helping people overcome barriers and build confidence. This includes working with individuals, youth, families, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

This role is offered as a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2027.

You’ll play an important part in helping our program make a real impact.

How you’ll contribute:

  • Provide supportive check-ins — Offer non-clinical, face-to-face or phone support, including community outreach and follow-up after hospital stays.
  • Use recovery-focused approaches — Work with a mix of holistic, trauma-informed, and strengths-based methods to support each person’s journey.
  • Empower and inform — Help individuals build confidence, resilience, and independence, while guiding them to helpful clinical and non-clinical services.
  • Promote awareness — Deliver info sessions and support groups for schools, community groups, and services to reduce stigma and build understanding.
  • Be part of the team — Collaborate with your team, attend meetings, and help shape and grow the EDSS program to reach those who need it most.
