About the Role Centacare is seeking a passionate and dedicated Young Carer Coordinator to join our Young Carer Support Services (YCSS) program. YCSS supports young carers aged 5–25 years who provide unpaid care to family members. Using an intensive case management approach, this role focuses on supporting young carers to overcome barriers, improve wellbeing, and build stronger connections to education, employment, and community. You will work one-on-one with young carers, delivering holistic, strengths-based and person-centred support that empowers them to reach their goals. In this role you will work 1.0 FTE until 30 June 2026 and from 1 July 2026 0.8 FTE What You’ll Do- Provide individualised case management support to young carers
- Assist young people to set and achieve personal goals
- Deliver mentoring and support to young carers
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders and service providers
- Collaborate with other YCSS providers across the state
- Promote and connect young carers with the Commonwealth Carer Gateway
What you need to bring Essential
- Cert IV in Community Services, Youth Work or equivalent
- Knowledge of the impacts on a young person and their caring role
- Proficient in computer use and ability to learn and use databases
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check
- Valid Australian Drivers Licence
Desirable - Experience in a similar role
- Experience working with youth and/or unpaid carers
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD and LGBTQIA+ communities
