Mental Health Worker - Your LINC
Part-time, 0.8 FTE - Noarlunga

 

Your LINC aims to support people accessing mental health services to regain their level of wellbeing and functioning by building capacity and reducing distress and crisis so that they can achieve optimal health, quality of life and independence over the long term.

  • SCHCADS Level 4, $43.08 per hour + super + PBI salary packaging

The Role

 

This is a permanent part-time position (0.8 FTE) based in Noarlunga, operating on a 7-day rotating roster. Standard working hours are 9:00 am to 5:06 pm, within the Your LINC program.


As a Mental Health Worker in this role, you will provide person-centred psychosocial support to individuals and, where appropriate, their families and carers. This includes supporting goal setting, exit planning, and assisting with applications and transitions to NDIS services.

 

What you need to bring

 

Essential

  • Certificate IV level qualification in Mental Health (non-clinical) or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience and expertise in working directly with people with mental health issues, complex needs, and with their families and carers.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritise to meet client service delivery requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in documenting client case notes and working with electronic data bases.
  • Demonstrated understanding of available community services, networks and supports.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the NDIS eligibility, application, and transition processes.
  • Great interpersonal and listening skills to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working with the recovery framework and taking a trauma informed approach to practice.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and de-escalate crises.
  • Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check.

  Desirable

  • Degree in relevant Human Services discipline.
  • Experience using Penelope electronic client management system.

  Special Conditions

  • Flexibility is essential in this role - some work outside of standard hours may be required.
  • Willingness to take part in Centacare’s fleet car program or grey fleet your personal vehicle.
