Support people in your community to build strength, stability, and hope. Centacare Catholic Family Services is seeking a compassionate and flexible Mental Health Worker to join the Your LINC outreach program, supporting people aged 16+ across Southern Adelaide. What You’ll Be Doing You’ll support individuals and, where appropriate, families and carers through personalised outreach. Support may include emotional assistance, goal-setting, crisis care, and connecting people to services. You’ll meet clients where they are—at home or in the community—and work as part of a dedicated team focused on recovery and wellbeing. - Deliver personalised, psychosocial outreach support
- Support clients in setting recovery goals and planning for service exit
- Assist clients with applying for longer-term supports like NDIS
- Encourage community engagement and social participation
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, and other supports
What you’ll bring - Certificate IV in Mental Health (or equivalent)
- Experience working with people with mental health and complex needs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain)
It’s a bonus if you have these, but not essential - Experience using a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented approach
- Ability to remain calm and responsive in a crisis
Other Requirement - A current Working with Children Check from the Department of Human Services (DHS).
- Flexibility to work outside regular hours when needed.
- Willingness to travel and use a Centacare fleet car or your own vehicle.
- Ability to stay calm and make good decisions in crisis situations.
- Commitment to inclusive and culturally safe practice, especially when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
