This is a meaningful opportunity to provide independent leadership, strategic guidance, and community connection to support the ongoing success of headspace services for young people. About headspace headspace supports young Australians to be mentally healthy and engaged in their communities by providing youth-friendly services across four core areas: - Mental Health

About the Role The Consortium Chair is an independent volunteer leadership position responsible for guiding the Consortium Advisory Committee at headspace Port Adelaide. Working closely with the Lead Agency and Centre Manager, you will help strengthen partnerships, provide strategic advice, support stakeholder engagement, and ensure the service remains responsive to local community needs. This role plays an important part in helping headspace maintain an integrated, collaborative and sustainable approach to supporting young people. Key Responsibilities - Chair consortium meetings and support strategic direction and planning
- Build strong relationships with local agencies, community organisations, and business stakeholders
- Provide advice and support to the Centre Manager
- Foster collaboration across youth mental health, health, education, housing, AOD and vocational services
- Mentor and support a Youth Co-Chair (where applicable)
- Promote inclusive, culturally responsive and youth-centred approaches, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives
About You We are seeking someone who has: Essential: - Independence from the Lead Agency (must not be employed by or sit under the governance structure of the Lead Agency)
- A genuine interest in the health and wellbeing of young people
- Strong networks and credibility within the local community or service sector
- Leadership, stakeholder engagement, and meeting facilitation skills
- Understanding of governance principles and meeting procedures
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to mentor and support young people in leadership roles
Desirable: - Understanding of the mental health service system in Australia
