24/7 residential rehabilitation and sobering up service for your people aged 12-24 who are living with substance misuse issues. About the Position AOD Youth Workers provide support to young people who are residing at Centacare’s Integrated Youth Substance Misuse Specialist Service (IYSMSS) and have the following key responsibilities: - Support young people to reduce their substance use through therapeutic conversations and skills development
- Provide supports related to mental health, well-being, and relationships
- Co-facilitate a range of group sessions and activities
- Assist young people to develop independent living skills
- Support Young People to safely sober-up, through monitoring their health and wellbeing and providing brief intervention
About You To be considered for this position you will need to meet the following criteria: Essential Criteria - Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Certificate IV Alcohol & Other Drugs or equivalent
- Must be willing and available to predominantly work active overnight shifts and other shifts as required across a rotating roster including weekends.
Desirable Criteria - Experience in working with young people
- Experience working with individuals impacted by Alcohol and Other Drugs
- Relevant tertiary qualification
