Youth Mental Health Clinician - Headspace

About the Position

Centacare, as the lead agency of a consortium-based model, is responsible for operating Headspace Port Adelaide. Headspace is Australia's National Youth Mental Health Foundation. The headspace mission is to improve the mental health, social wellbeing and economic participation of young Australians aged 12-25.  Headspace Port Adelaide provides free services to young people in the areas of mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drugs, work and study.


Working in a multidisciplinary team, the Youth Mental Health Clinician will provide psychosocial assessment, suicide risk assessment and management, and evidence-based mental health counselling interventions to young people with mild to moderate mental health concerns.

About You

To be considered for this position you will need to meet the following criteria:


Essential Criteria

  • Fully qualified in one of the following disciplines and membership to associated professional body; Psychologists (either registered or clinical), Accredited Mental Health Social Workers, Accredited Mental Health Occupational Therapists, AHPRA Registered Nurses with Tertiary Mental Health Qualifications OR eligible and commit to achieving the appropriate accreditation/registration/endorsement within the first 12 weeks of employment
  • Experience of two (2) years or more in clinical health settings preferably community based.
  • Proven experience working with young people aged 12-25 and their family and friends
  • Proven experience in working with people experiencing mental health and other wellbeing concerns
  • An understanding of the youth mental health sector in Adelaide
  • Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (previously known as ‘Child-Related Employment Screening Clearance’).
  • Valid Driver's Licence 
  • Due to the nature of our services, Centacare is required to comply with COVID19 government directions. You will be required to provide Centacare with your COVID19 vaccination certificate.
