The Role

 

We have an opening for a dedicated IT Support Specialist to join our close-knit and collaborative team on a full-time basis (1.0 FTE), based in Adelaide City. Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering Level 1 and Level 2 support, assisting end-users with technical issues, and ensuring seamless IT operations across Centacare.

 

Centacare’s IT Business Services team drives technology solutions for Centacare and related entities, covering a broad scope, including:

 

The key duties in this role will include:

  • Managing and resolving support tickets and incoming calls.
  • Imaging, configuring, and deploying IT equipment like desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
  • Providing remote and in-person technical support for hardware and software issues.
  • Assisting with user account management, including provisioning and access rights.
  • Performing basic network troubleshooting and maintaining IT inventory.
  • Creating and updating technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
  • Collaborating with the IT Business Services team to resolve complex issues.

 About You

 

You are a proactive and technically skilled IT professional with a passion for problem-solving and providing exceptional customer service. With a solid foundation in IT support, you bring a mix of technical expertise, effective communication, and a can-do attitude to the role.

 

Essential Criteria

  • Previous IT support experience, particularly with Microsoft operating systems and Office 365.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and basic networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, IP addressing).
  • Strong hardware troubleshooting skills and knowledge of software installations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively.
  • Attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and proactively manage workload.

 Desirable skills 

  • Experience supporting MacOS and iOS devices.
  • Certifications like CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator.

 Special Conditions: 

  • A current driver’s license and willingness to travel for work.
  • Availability to work outside standard hours when required.
