Mental Health Worker - Your LINC
Elizabeth SA, Australia, Full-time (1.0 FTE)

 

 

Your LINC Mental Health Services embodies a strength-based approach to mental health psychosocial support in community to people (and their families/carers where appropriate) who are experiencing mental health challenges and distress to improve their mental health and wellbeing.

  

The Role

 

This is a permanent full-time position (1.0 FTE) based in Elizabeth Park, within the Your LINC program.

 

Reporting to the Manager, Your LINC North, you will provide person-centred psychosocial support to individuals and, where appropriate, their families and carers. This includes supporting goal setting, building independence and capacity building, exit planning, and assisting with applications and transitions to NDIS services.

 

This role is primarily Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work as required.

 

What you need to bring

 

Essential

  • Certificate IV level qualification in Mental Health (non-clinical) or equivalent qualification.
  • Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check.
  • Current first aid and & CPR training certificates
  • Experience and expertise in working directly with people with mental health issues, complex needs, and with their families and carers.
  • Demonstrated understanding of available community services, networks and supports.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the NDIS eligibility, application, and transition processes.
  • Demonstrated experience working with the recovery framework and taking a trauma informed approach to practice.

  Desirable

  • Degree in relevant Human Services discipline.
  • Experience using Penelope electronic client management system.

  Special Conditions

  • Flexibility is essential in this role - some work outside of standard hours may be required.
  • Willingness to take part in Centacare’s fleet car program or grey fleet your personal vehicle.
